All, went down to the Hawksbury this morning and had crippling views of a Spotted Harrier at Pitt Town lagoon - literally flew over my head about 50m away!! Needless to say it put up most of the birds on the lagoon. Saw 11 Marsh Sandpiper, about 60 Sharp-Tailed Sandpiper (could have been many more present as counting is hampered at this location by low cut reeds) and 6 Curlew Sandpiper. Didn't see the Pectoral noted earlier by Keith, but did see the adult non-breeding Whiskered Tern. Lots of Red-Kneed Dotteral (close to 40 odd) and a single Latham's Snipe as well as 2 Yellow-Billed Spoonbill.

Plenty of Baillon's Crakes at McGraths Hill as well as a couple of Glossy Ibis. Also a single Hoary-Headed Grebe as well as Swamp Harrier. Usual birds at Mitchell Park, activity good as spring develops (almost 50 species again this week).

Cheers
Simon.
