Ken,

You can get them all the time on the Caloundra sandbanks and at the new
artificial roost at Kakadu Beach (KKBC) on Bribie Island. At high tide at
Caloundra they roost out of sight on the seaward side of the northern Bribie
tip, so you need to look for them at times other than high tide. At KKBC
you'll need a high tide. In both cases a scope is advisable.
