Subject: Entanglement in marine debris (Vict.)
Further to Simon's posting on entanglement of fauna in craypots, the following
item as been recommended for listing as a 'potentailly threatening process'
under the Victorian Flora and Fauna Gaurantee Act.
Nomination number 549
The discharge of human-generated marine debris into Victorian marine or
estuarine waters.
The process identifies a suite of pelagic and inshore fauna (birds and mammals
in particular) that are threatened by marine debris.
A short Preliminary Recommendaton Report on this item is available free to
interested parties. Please contact me directly if you are interested and supply
a postal address.
