Koren's source is more or less correct. I'm sure that meat from Sydney
abattoirs is feeding Albatrosses - it's just that this version leaves out a
couple of steps. The meat gets sold, rather than thrown out, then attached to
longlines behind trawlers, and finally the albatrosses get to have a go at it.
And then they get hooked and dragged under.
OK I might be making half of this up, but we sure do have albatrosses coming
from far and wide to eat bait from longline fishing vessels. Another one for
the too-hard basket, it seems.
Maybe the albatrosses would be better off hanging around the meatworks?
