I heard a program on ABC Radio National yesterday morning, someone talking
about spirituality and the interconnectedness of everything, etc. Anyway,
as part of making a point that I can't quite remember, this person said
that in the past there had been an abattoir at Homebush Bay, spewing out
meat remains into the water, and that "albatrosses came from all over the
Southern Hemisphere" to fatten up on the scraps.
This sounded a bit sus to me. I'm not from Sydney, but I find it hard to
believe that lots of albatrosses would come that far up the harbour. Can
anyone confirm or deny whether this actually happened?
Cheers,
Koren
