Hi all
Just beyond suburban Darwin there's a house with a fairly large
raggedy front yard where I saw about 35 Bush Stone-Curlews
recently. I park at the side of the road in front of the house to check
the birds on an irregular basis. Over the last couple of years that
I've been checking this is the largest number, with most previous
counts between 15 and 25.
Of interest also around town recently has been Square-tailed Kite,
Black Falcon, Little Eagle and Australian Crake - the first record of
this for Darwin as far as I know. In fact possibly the first reliable
record from the Top End! Chestnut Rail has been spectacularly
reliable lately too.
Happy Birding
Niven
