I saw a pair of USSR made binoculars today in a pawnshop. I had a look at them. They were reasonable optics but quite knocked about and well overpriced. I did not note the brand but was intrigued by the specifications. They read "99990 X 6830" and "8m at 280000m". Can anyone translate this into figures I can understand? I have just about worn out my pencil trying to calculate what these figures mean.
