Hi All,
The flowering of Swamp Mahogany in Warriwwood Wetland on Sydney's Northern
Beaches is finally winding down, while Rainbow Lorikeets and Yellow-faced
Honeyeaters are still there in fair numbers, the Fuscous H/e have left and
there is obviously less blossom on the trees. Not to say it is not worth a
visit however, this morning there was Scarlet H/e. Spangled Drongo,
Fan-tailed Cuckoo and my best ever views of a Little Grassbird feeding in
the open almost under the boardwalk. The bird of the morning however was a
Grey Goshawk circling overhead. My previous visit several days ago produced:
a Rose Robin, Buff-banded Rail, Varied Sitella and Australian Spotted Crake.
Good birding, Bruce.
