On our very regular visits to the Western Treatment we have noted that when there are reports of large numbers of Freckled Duck at Lake Lorne we seem to see very few at Werribee.  Last Tuesday we did not see one, none on the rock and there were no birds on Lake Borrie North.  Has anyone else noted this coincidence?

Some may be surprised that I can now identify a Freckled Duck at 50 paces.  Once you have seen one it is oh! so easy.

Please reply to me directly, I will be ‘off birding-aus’ for 2 weeks while I am at Newhaven. N.T.
