Hi all,

Yesterday morning I led a small group of birders on a walk in the Edith
Falls area, near Hazelbrook in the Blue Mountains. There are still many
honeyeaters in this area with the banksias and mistletoe in flower. An
unexpected highlight was seeing two male Scarlet Honeyeaters feeding in
mistletoe in the Scribbly Gums. Scarlet Honeyeaters are usually a
spring-summer visitor to the Blue Mountains, normally arriving in August or
later.

Later in the day I saw two pairs of Spotted Pardalotes busy building nests
at Sun Valley. Spring is on its way!

Cheers

Carol
