The roller is in fact a Lilac-breasted Roller - very common over lots of South Africa. I was watching a Canadian TV drama a few evenings ago and they had a Red-chested Cuckoo (an intra-African migrant) calling in the Caribbean so it seems African birds a becoming quite widespread these days :-) John McAllister Wakkerstroom South Africa |
