Last weekend I was at Munghorn Gap NR NSW (west of the divide) and recorded
the following honeyeater species (arranged in approximate order of most to
least encountered):
Eastern Spinebill
Yellow Faced Honeyeater
New Holland Honeyeater
Brown Headed Honeyeater
Noisy Miner
Fuscous Honeyeater
White Naped Honeyeater
Red Wattlebird
Spinebills were the most abundant species feeding on the abundant Styphelia
and Mistletoe flowers.
Other birds included:
Emu
King Parrot
Eastern Rosella
Laughing Kookaburra
Superb Lyrebird (nesting)
Eastern Yellow Robin
Golden Whistler
Grey Shrike-Thrush
Superb Blue Wren
Buff Rumped Thornbill
Brown Thornbill
Weebill
White Browed Scrubwren
White Throated Treecreeper
Striated Pardalote
Mistletoebird
Red Browed Firetail
Silvereye
White Winged Chough
Pied Butcherbird
Grey Butcherbird
Pied Currawong
Australian Magpie
Australian Raven
Mammals Included:
Swamp Wallaby
Common Wallaroo
Eastern Grey Kangaroo
Common Wombat
