For some time now I have been wondering why there were white and purple berries in my bird bath and had assumed that they were from blackbird's excrement.
This morning I watched a male blackbird standing on the edge of the bath.  Over a 7 minute period he twice regurgitated a white berry into the water.  The white "berries" are probably Pittosporum berry seeds and the purple Ivy berry seeds.
Am I the last person to make this observation.  Do they regurgitate all seeds or do some pass through?
