Hi Birders
For those in the Hunter region, there has been
a female Black-necked Stork at The Wetlands Centre for the past 5
days. Bit of a conicidence considering the Centre is about to launch its
new web site with the species as the logo.
In the Maitland area, there have been least 10
Black Kites at Maitland garbage dump. These
birds have been roosting in the evening at a spotted gum forest nearby. A local
resident contacted me suggesting that there was ~20 birds and they were
nesting. As yet, I haven't located any evidence of nesting nor that
relatively high number of individuals.
