I was just wondering whether the large jump in the
Corella population in Sydney has much to do with birds moving away from the
inland drought! I have been hearing reports recently (and all of a sudden) of
flocks in their several hundreds around the Sydney area. If they are from the
original release stock, where are they breeding? If they all were brought
up in Sydney, I would imagine high competition with the limited number of
nesting holes. What is the situation in other states and is anyone monitoring
this increase?
