Roger Jaensch just dropped me a note about some Brisbane Swift Parrots today
(Friday). He isn't on birding-aus, but thought others might be interested to
hear about it.

"After failing to find the Swift Parrots at Bowman Park (Bardon) today, I
got onto 25+ Swift Parrots in the Botanic Gardens in nearby Toowong, at 4 pm
(but gone at 4:30 when re-visited). They were in several loosely associated
flocks, and took to perching on the highest points of a sparse brown
bloodwood Eucalyptus trachyphloia with several dead vertical branches at the
top, flanked by flowering tallowoods, near the junction of Mt Coo-tha Rd and
Richer Road. You can see this best by standing in the vacant land opposite
the Gardens, with Richer Rd on your left, looking back into the Gardens
across Mt Coot-tha Road. The birds were also in largish E. tereticornis a
stone throw away inside the Gardens among the bamboos. With all the
flowering eucs of various species in this area, it would be worth a
re-visit."
