Hi Everyone,

On 25 May near the Vines Golf Course at Ellenbrook(WA) i noticed a White Necked Heron flying overhead. This is the first time i have seen this species around Perth for some time.
On 4 June i observed another White Necked Heron at Lake Claremont in suburban Perth.
These observations suggest a recent movement , probably from the  North. It may be coincidence, but the climatic and other reasons for these birds  moving south, may also be the reason why the recent Grey Heron turned up at Busselton, assuming the Heron was from Asia.

Have any birders in the Eastern States noticed an increase in White Necked Herons during the past fortnight?

Best Regards
Wynton Maddeford
