I should have sent this message a couple of weeks ago but overloked it in the
sudden rush of work-related mess.
Many Birding-aus readers took the opportunity to visit Tony & Jenny Leen's
property at Hospital Swamps near Geelong earlier this year, and most were
rewarded with views of the Red-necked Phalarope. Some of you may have spoken
to Tony or other family members - they were always very welcoming despite the
many calls from people wanting to see the Phalarope. His daughter, Jo, asked
me for info about finding photos of the bird online, as the family have an
interest in the natural world in their amazing backyard.
Tony's son, Adam, died in a tragic boating and shooting accident on April 14th.
