Thanks Karen for letting us know about that lovely item in today's Age.
I missed it in my excitement at seeing that the Labour and Liberal
leaderships have agreed on the marine parks. Details, like boundaries,
to come on Monday.
Part of the article says:
"It is a mystery, however, why so many [c120!] chose the small patch of
reserve in Oakleigh. "No one could even start to guess why," said Chris
Tzaros, Bird Australia's threatened species expert. "There are lots of
other metropolitan parks they could turn up in like Jells Park, near
Mount Waverley, that have much larger patches of parkland with more
flowering trees."
Chris obviously has a lot to learn. It's only about 2km from where John
Gamblin was staying ! Maybe all those 300 swifties that JAG reported
from Hastings are helping to take care of him. One good turn deserves
another.
