Hello all,

I've just returned from a work trip to Armidale. Birdwatching opportunities were limited but I came across a few things. Highlights described below.

Yelkin SF (south of Lake Cargelligo)- Golden Whistler. Unusual bird around here.
5 km west of Condobolin- Brolga (3)
16 km NE Trangie (Macquarie River)- Barking Owl (2)
10 km E. Collie- Superb Parrot (2)
Marthaguy Creek (13 km W. Gilgandra)- Diamond Dove
Gilgandra Flora Reserve- Glossy Black-cockatoo, Chestnut-rumped Heathwren.
Woggoon NR (north of Condobolin)- Shy Heathwren, Superb Parrot and thousands of White-browed Woodswallows and Masked Woodswallows. Bring on the chats! (refers to earlier email from David Geering about the impending drought).
17 km N. Kikoira (south of Tullibigeal)- Superb Parrot (12+)
Grey-crowned Babblers at numerous locations.

Cheers

Mick Todd
