My first Swift Parrots seen for the year yesterday morning, 0930, flying over
calling as I was working outside in Eltham, some 18 km northeast of the centre
of Melbourne. Later, after scanning the sky when Noisy Miners and Magpie-larks
started giving alarm calls, I saw a female Peregrine Falcon apparently carrying
prey. The "prey" actually looked more like jesses attached to her legs.
Unfortunately I had no binoculars with me, so was unable to confirm the identity
of the "prey".

Cheers

Ian
