The other thing to remember about longevity is that with birds almost all
individuals die in the first year, or few years of life. Once a bird has
survived this period it has acquired all the skills it needs, and has every
chance of living to the near the longest possible span for that species.
All the birds we see around, except for the period after breeding, are the old, smart ones. Human societies used to be like that too! &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& John Leonard (Dr) http://users.bigpond.com/john.leonard PO Box 243, Woden, ACT 2606, Australia &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
