I know there is no chance of convincing "", who ever
they are, but if other birding-aus reader are interested, the IPCC has
gone to great lengths to put the science relevant to climate change into
accessible form at http://www.ipcc.ch/   Newspapers generally struggle
to present the complex science involved.  Reading the "Summaries for
Policymakers" at the above site, or the "Technical Summaries" if you
are keen, is recomended if you want to know what we know and don't know.
