Bob and B-Ozzers: I've noticed the same thing. Not sure why the gender difference, but I suspect that seasickness might be related to some extent to apprehensiveness; folks who are a bit nervous about being out on a boat seem to get seasick a bit more. Maybe males try to overcome their apprehensiveness by being more gung-ho and active when out on boats? (Just a few unscientific thoughts!)
