As far as I am aware, the Laughing Gull was not seen on Bribie Island today, despite extensive searching. I'll keep an eye on the area over the next few days (I tend to get to Scoopy's quite regularly anyway!) and report back, hopefully within the hour, if it reappears. I won't report further negative news. I have just sent another scanned photo of the bird to Bill Jolly, a far better effort than the previous ones. Hopefully he'll put it on the Abberton web site asap. I would suggest that anyone who is hoping to relocate the bird has a look at this photo as it reveals many of the salient features. Is this the sixth record of Laughing Gull in Australia? Cheers - Trevor Ford.
