The Laughing Gull was present again on Bribie Island this afternoon between 2.15 pm and 2.45 pm. It then flew out towards Moreton Bay as it had done in the morning, not re-appearing by 5.45 pm. The photographs that Kym Ford took yesterday are pretty good. I will send a couple to Bill Jolly who will hopefully make them available via his web site. No doubt he will announce to birding-aus when this has been done. I've already started plotting something for Bill for next April 1st! Having had another look at the bird today, and looking through the photographs, another obvious feature is that the bill is not only large but also has a distinctive 'droop' when viewed from certain angles. Cheers - Trevor Ford.
