Well Tania
I was just about to put a trip report on B-A and you have beat me to it.
The Ballarat BOCA had a trip to Werribee on Sunday also. WE also saw the
Freckled Ducks, Cape Barren Geese, Fork-tailed swifts and others you
mentioned, apart from Golden Plover. But to add to this list, we also got
Black-tailed Native Hen, Double-banded Plover and Lesser Sand Plover and Red
Knot (these 3 from the hide). Also an Immature Sea-Eagle near Lake Borrie.
Having been in Qld for the last 7 years, I must say that it was good to get
back to Werribee for a look.

Subject: [BIRDING-AUS] sec: unclas Fork-tailed Swifts at the Western
Treatment Plant
Date: Wed, 27 Mar 2002 14:45:29 +1100
Last Sunday I took a Canadian birder to visit the Western Treatment Plant
and he was suitably impressed, getting some 50 or so lifers for the day.
Apart from the highlights of Frecked Duck, Glossy Ibis, Pacific Golden
Plover, Arctic Jaeger, Darter and Cape Barren Goose, we also saw a minimum
of 20 Fork-tailed Swifts over the Borrow Pits, slowly moving south.
Regards,
Tania.
