Q. Why is a twitcher like a policeman?

A. Because there's never one around when you want one.

                                                    :-)

March 16, 6:30 AM, or thereabouts, and a pair of white birds flew over
suburban Hawthorne in an easterly direction. Determined, straight flight.
Hard to estimate height, not knowing the size of the bird. My best guess is
that they were about five times the height of an average single-storey
house, and were about the size of a Sulph.-crested Cockatoo or a bit
smaller. Definitely not Egrets, nor White Ibis.

I would probably have dismissed them as S-c Cs, but for their intermittent
calls. Single notes and somewhat musical in quality. Not at all like the
sounds I associate with S-c Cs.

Any suggestions?

Syd
