I had great pleasure this morning in introducing my seven month old
granddaughter to my resident Rainbow lorikeets.
I stopped feeding the birds quite a long time ago,
but they still come back and seem to just like our company,
and often sit in the liquidamber just outside our kitchen window.
My grandaughter sat in my arms, one hand grasping my ear and the
other with thumb in mouth absolutely fascinated with the two adults and their baby,
Every few moments she'd let out a squeal of delight and remained fascinated
for a good ten minutes or so, which is pretty good for one so young.
These are images I reckon will stay with her for a long long time,
and I hope she will become more interested in birds a little later in life.

Cheers,
Peter Adderley
