It was wrong of me, I know, but it was amusing ...
A crow flew into the tree outside my second storey study window. Gave an
occasional 'ark'. A mature crow with pale eyes. Only a few metres from me,
but the lower light intensity inside plus the fly-screen on the window
presumably made me not obvious to the crow.
I remained motionless for a minute or so admiring this handsome bird, then
couldn't resist: Made the double note "ark, AAARK" call that means "will
you kindly remove yourself from my presence" - or more explicitly, "P...s
orf!"
The crow looked guiltily around for the other bird. Couldn't see one of
course, but wasn't taking any chances and smartly departed.
