Drove from Sydney to Canberra on Friday, for the first time in about 25 years, and I think I have discovered the raven capital of the world. Passing the flat grazing land which was once the water-covered floor of Lake George, adjacent to the highway, we saw what must have been 300+ ravens, some in great flocks, others in just small groups. Returning this afternoon (3:30 pm Saturday) there were fewer (perhaps 100) moving to and fro between the paddocks and the wooded hills on the opposite side of the highway. I am not a raven identification expert (particularly during driving) but I suspect these were Little Ravens. Is this correct?
