Had a good experience last evening, a Peregrine snatched what was probably a
House Sparrow in our garden, then landed in a tree in the back yard. When I
tried to get a look, it took off and went up the paddock with its prey
hanging from its talons, and landed on the fence 100 metres away and began
to feed. The spotting scope showed it to be a young bird, probably one of
this season's crop. Duncan Fraser, Maffra V.
