Just two points on spam:
1. No-one should ever reply to a spam e-mail asking to unsubscribe, all that
happens is that then your e-mail address goes on to a list of ?People who
have proved their existence by replying?, which can be sold at a higher
price!
2. People should try to avoid, wherever possible, registering for anything
on-line. If they do, even if they tick ?We do not want to receive any
further information?, this does not always have the desired effect, as some
spam companies ONLY send information to people who have not requested it, on
the grounds that these are the people whose time is valuable, and therefore
have more money. Whenever I register for anything on line I type a false
e-mail in, and that usually gets rid of requests to register, and preserves
me from spam, at the same time.
