I also saw an unusual duck last week, on the sewerage ponds at Euroa
(Central Vic). It was with 50+ Hardheads, 20+ Grey Teal, 50+ Pacific Black
Duck, 1 Australian Shoveller, 50+ Wood Ducks, 30+ Grebe (Hoary-headed and
Aust). It was about the size of a Hardhead, but with an orange-brown head
and a creamy-orange body. I didn't see it clearly enough to be sure of head
shape but think it was closer to a hardhead than any thing else. I suppose
it was a hardhead with washed out colouring, for some reason. Has anyone
else seen anything else like that?

The day before at Shepparton WTP there were a few Black-winged Stilts, 8
Sharp-tailed Sandpipers and 1 Common Sandpiper, 100s of Grebe (both spp)
Grey Teal, Hardheads, Coots, Aust Shovellers, Pinkears, Wood duck, and some
Aust Shelducks, Swans, Chestnut Teal, 2 pelicans and 1 Musk Duck.
