I have just returned from an enjoyable weekend at Jervis Bay where I
followed the directions of Thomas and Thomas to the ruined lighthouse at
Cape St George and observed, amongst other birds, at least three eastern
bristlebirds. I also contemplated the fringes of JB range facility for the
ground parrot, but a C130 Hercules was very busy loading parachutists and

I was also lucky enough to score a boat trip out on Jervis Bay and while
there was a dearth of seabirds, I observed a Jaeger. Not being familiar with
the species, I could tie it down to Pomerine or Artic but no closer so I
would appreciate advice on which it was likely to be, noting the time of
year and likelihood of being inshore.
Regards
Alastair
