Hi All,
I don't usually involve myself in the politics of birding-aus, but I feel
the integrity of the group is at risk from the comments below. Birding-aus
is a group of people who have names, and whose names denote to other list
members some degree of respect or, as it sometimes the case, otherwise. We
often seek to know each other out of sight of the list, in order to share
knowledge. If people on birding-aus all used pseudonyms, the information
imparted would have a poor credibility benchmark. We are not just names in a
list; we are people who, in the main, and to varying degrees, are trying to
further the knowledge and conservation of native Australian birds, and that
comes from the activities we undertake within our widespread communities.
The list would be less useful without our community profiles to back up our
information.
Regards,
Jill
