There was one, possibly two Tree Sparrows at Nightcliff, suburban Darwin today. This is only the third time I've seen the bird in Darwin - 1998, 2001 and now 2002. A reminder to anyone birding in Darwin - or the NT Top End generally - to report these and other non- natives (other than Rock Dove / Feral Pigeon) to the Parks and Wildlife Commission here. We're pretty lucky in Darwin that we're not overrun by ferals yet, and would love to keep it that way.
