Hi everybody -

We hope to publish Volume 6, the penultimate volume, of the Handbook of
Australian, New Zealand and Antarctic Birds (HANZAB) towards the end of
this year. Vol.6 will cover 126 passerine species from the pardalotes to
the Spangled Drongo including, for example, bristlebirds, Rockwarbler,
Fernwren, scrubwrens, gerygones, thornbills, whitefaces, the Australian and
New Zealand robins, Logrunner and Chowchilla, babblers, whipbirds and
wedgebills, quail-thrushes, Sittella, Whitehead and Yellowhead, whistlers,
shrike-thrushes, monarchs and fantails.

We did have an appeal for sponsorships last year. Many people, including
several Birding-Aus subscribers, responded generously but there are still
many species without sponsors and there is still time to get sponsorships
in - until the end of March.

So far we have received 222 sponsorships. The most 'heavily' sponsored
species is the Spotted Pardalote (with 11 sponsors) followed by the Eastern
Yellow Robin (with nine), the Grey Shrike-thrush (with eight), and then the
Scarlet Robin, Rose Robin and Grey-crowned Babbler (with six each).

However, current sponsorships cover only 90 species and consequently there
are still 36 species without sponsors. All donations are gratefully
accepted, but a Sponsorship of A$190 per species gets your name (or a name
you nominate - see who sponsored the Stephens Island Wren in Vol.5) with
the chosen species account in the book. The following list gives the birds
