Hi Mike and others interested Having breakfast at around 8 A.M. this morning and noticed Needletails flying past. Went out on the veranda and counted 200+ WTNT's , many coming very low and close to the house. Was able to see the "spines" on one tail without the aid of binoculars. They are fairly regular around our property but I've never seen this many before. Drove the 7km to work and there were 100+ over Dungog township as well. It has been dry for some time, but we have had good rain in the last 2 days. The weather conditions were full cloud cover, no wind or storms. Cheers Dick Jenkin DUNGOG NSW Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
