Our backyard runs down to Darebin Creeek in Ivanhoe, Melbourne.
About 5.20 pm we heard cockatoo noises which didn't sound like
Sulphur-cresteds. Brian went out to investigate. He heard definite Gang
Gang conversation noises to the south, then saw a fine male Gang Gang
fly from a tree in our northern neighbour's backyard to another in the
next block upstream. We haven't seen any here since 10th October 2001.
Weather conditions hot and muggy with 10/10 cloud cover.
Anyone who goes to Darebin Parklands should keep an eye and ear open for
them.
Anthea Fleming in Ivanhoe.
