G'day Marlene et al.
I spent a couple of hours in the Mt Beckworth Scenic Reserve last November.
It's a few km out of Clunes (actually not that easy to find but that might have
just been me). Nothing special and certainly no Painted Honeyeaters but worth a
visit in any case. I called in because I last visited during a Bird Observers
Club trip there years ago when I was a very keen 12 year old (1970?).
Here is what I saw in November:
Laughing Kookaburra
Rainbow Bee-eater
Pallid Cuckoo
Shining Bronze-Cuckoo
Eastern Rosella
Peregrine Falcon
White-throated Treecreeper
Brown Treecreeper
Superb Fairy-wren
Yellow-faced Honeyeater
White-eared Honeyeater
Yellow-tufted Honeyeater
Fuscous Honeyeater
White-naped Honeyeater
Brown-headed Honeyeater
New Holland Honeyeater
Red Wattlebird
Spotted Pardalote
Striated Pardalote
Striated Thornbill
Weebill
White-winged Chough
Varied Sittella
Rufous Whistler
Grey Shrike-thrush
Australian Raven
Little Raven
Australian Magpie
Grey Currawong
White-winged Triller
Grey Fantail
Cheers
Steve
