Hi everyone

1. On next Monday and Tuesday (Jan 21 & 22) my school will be offline. That
means I won't be contactable via this address and the Birding-Aus website (but
not the archive) will be down. If you need to contact me urgently please use
my other address (I rarely check this at other times):

2. I think we've had enough from both sides (and a bit from the center) of the
banding debate. Can we drop this topic for the time being please. I don't
want to have to filter it out in case something NEW about banding comes up some
time in the future - but if necessary I will be forced to gag debate on this
one.

3. Some of the comments about a privately-run sanctuary 'network' and its owner
have been perhaps a little too frank - this is just me being paranoid, I must
add. Please don't say anything on Birding-Aus that could be in ANY way
defamatory, such as casting doubts on any person's ability to run a business or
maintain accounting procedures. Sending an email to a mailing list is more or
less the same as writing a "letter to the editor" or writing an article in a
magazine. Birding-Aus messages are archived on a publicly searchable website,
so please try to write the sort of thing you'd be happy for ANYONE to read, now
or later.

3.5 Dipped on CR Heathwren and Beautiful Firetail (again!) but saw some great
birds in the hills behind Anglesea and Airey's Inlet today - a very worthwhile
diversion for anyone doing the Great Ocean Road.

Cheers

Russell
