g'day all,

Deb Colbourne and Terhi & Turkka Korvenpää have enquired about Vanuatu Birds.

Barry Wright's 1999 Trip Report is pretty good and contains a Systematic List
http://worldtwitch.virtualave.net/new_caledonia_barry_wright.htm

This page lists the endemics only.
http://www.unep.ch/islands/CLT.htm

Not much else is available on the Web except....

Tina MacDonald's page which has a few Vanuatu birds and the Books of the area
http://www.camacdonald.com/birding/pavanuata.htm#Speciality

Associated pages were
http://www.camacdonald.com/birding/pavanuata.htm
http://www.camacdonald.com/birding/checklistunavailable.htm

Several other Web Pages note how many species but not what they are.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are several books including .....
Birds of the Solomon's, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Softcover. A & C Black, 1999.
ISBN: 071364690X
Guide to Birds of Vanuatu
Heinrich L. Bregulla Hardcover - 294 pages (30 December, 1991) Anthony Nelson
ISBN: 0904614344
the nearest location List I could find was for the Solomon Islands.
Go to
http://www.birdlist.org/
then open Solomon Islands....it takes a little while
Even the Fat Birder (One of the WWW top 5 Birding Web page)
could only come up with...
http://www.fatbirder.com/links_geo/australasia/vanuatu.html
(Beo Beolands is seeking more info about these Islands)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope that helps.

Regards, Bob Forsyth, Mount Isa, NW Qld.
(ps.All info via Google http://www.google.com/
