There is a FRECKLED DUCK back again at Herdsman Lake in Perth. Check my web site for directions. It seems to be a month or two early this year. Possibly because of the very dry year in the south?

Colin Davis reported a LITTLE STINT at Lake McLarty near Pinjarra last Sunday. I got there today and located the bird on the western side of the lake and confirmed its identity. It seemed to be in full breeding plumage (pretty hard to ID otherwise!). Very clear white chin and throat, and very clear cream / yellow V on its back. I have made a submission to BARC.

There was (still is?) an immature PACIFIC GULL at Woodman Point on Thursday 29th November. This is very unusual close to Perth.

These and other sightings are on the new Birds Australia Western Australia (Inc) web site at http://birdswa.iinet.net.au

Please report any WA sightings to me and I will include them on the web site as soon as I can. They will also be culled and collated for WA Bird Notes each quarter.
