Their calls become conspicuous (to non-birdwatchers) in the lead up to the Higher School Certificate exam in Sydney. They also get called HSC birds. Saw a Black-faced Monarch on Friday (23rd) in Glebe (inner Sydney) - looking very out-of-place with some Bulbuls. Must be passing through, although it seems too late to be a migrant?
