 Hello Birders,
I am William's teacher and would also like to hear about cuckoos feeding or at
least offering food to a mate. The bird with what appeared to be a fig in the
end of its bill was doing all the calling and following the second bird. Bird 2
would allow close approach and even having its bill touched but did not accept
the fig, that we saw. After about five minutes of this behaviour, bird 2 sat
still in dense cover in a Hoop Pine while bird 1 moved through the forestry
plot slowly,(sans fig) drawing the attention of Mud Larks (nesting) and Willies
(no nest found).

Has any one else observed this sort of behaviour in these birds?

Regards,
Alan Gillanders
