Hi, I'm planning to do a bit of spotlighting (on foot) in a few weeks and realized that I actually knew very little about the subject. I've checked the archives and noticed that there is very little on actual technique. In the past I've simply used a relatively small hand held torch and hoped that the batteries weren't flat. It seems obvious but there must be more to it than this. A number of questions can be asked. What is a good-sized light to use? Are there any specific techniques or tricks for good spotlighting? Is there a best time? Further, where can you purchase a good light and what are the prices? Any assistance would be helpful. Cheers, Tim Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
