Hi David and all,

Re sightings of Rufous Fantail in the Dubbo, NSW area: The only other record that I know of is my sighting of a Rufous Fantail in March 1991. In that case the bird was alone, seemed to be in good health and was feeding around foliage of trees in the Travelling Stock Route a few kms south of the city. (Newell Highway.)

I mention that it seemed to be well, because when I recognised it, I expected to see evidence of it being blown off course... storm damaged, or something!

I discussed the sighting with Alan Morris at the time, and he might know if there were any others since then.

Regards, Judie Peet
(The only thing certain in birdwatching is that nothing's certain.)
