G'day All, Had some good fortune today, Andrew Stafford finally saw his first Black-backed (formerly Little) Bitterns (Ixobrychus novazelandiae) at Sherwood Arboretum south of Brisbane. He reckons it might be his 180th trip to the same place in search of them! I've finally managed to get some reasonable images with the Leica/Coolpix 990. A very difficult species to see usually but today they must have taken pity on us! I've put all four pics on a web-page at http://ats.com.au/~aviceda/prs/lbit.htm with a bit of a description hope you enjoy them, Regards, Tom Tom Tarrant Samsonvale, Queensland Australia Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
