National Park Administrations

Hi All,

        I trust that the welfare of national parks will not be considered off-topic.

I have received disturbing information indicating that the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service may be about to be abolished and its administration officers slotted into the EPA.  It seems unthinkable, but  it may be happening and I fear for the integrity of the Parks system.

I am therefore keen to know what is the present situation in other States - how are the National Parks administered in each State, and how successful it is from the aspect of protection of the natural condition of the Parks.

I suggest that anyone responding should do so directly to me (unless you particularly wish to express some views to birding-aus generally) and I will summarise the administrative situation in due course.  I may not be able to cover all advice on the success of the various administrations except in very broad terms.
